After decades of dancing with depression in nuanced forms I agree that exercise is a valid treatment. It touches the core of what I believe depression (and stress/anxiety) was for me - a soul sickness. As an energetically sensitive person acutely aware of my environment, my "treatment" requires a connection to my sense of Self through space and quiet, ideally in Nature. Walking my neighborhood or hiking a park gets me back in touch with what is mine and what's not, energetically speaking. My emotions and thoughts get clear too.

Pills have their place. I've seen them work for others, family included. I've done those too, but the side effects were horrible and left me flat-lined and numb. I prefer to ride the waves down and back using what I know.

I'm happy to see that your article is stirring up conversation. It offers another perspective to people like me who are not "broken", they're just psychic and overloaded. In my experience, there's a blessing in the curse.
