Many serious writers, journalists, and authors laugh at the quality of popular writing on Medium. Many writers don’t follow grammatical rules or they write in single line sentences, which has been appropriately dubbed “broetry.” These folks are a dime a dozen on the internet, but agents and publishers refuse to take them seriously. Sean was also keen to point this out in his article. If you want to be taken seriously, you better arm yourself with The Chicago Manual of Style.
