I think Tarot is magical! I use my cards to sidestep the mundane and plug into the collective consciousness evoked by the symbols and archetypes. Like you I use only the Crowley Thoth deck (for decades) as a meditative practice. It's how I talk to my higher self and access my intuition.
I use them to reflect the truth about my current state and look for steps for a positive outcome.
The action part is critical, as you said. I ask to be shown my next best steps. What do I need to do or change within myself to move in a positive direction?
I do the same before client sessions for strangers who are often miles away from me. The card I pull for them ALWAYS speaks directly to their issue and what they need.
